Didnt have any meat dishes, all sold out. Food took ages to come and tasted very average.
Food was not great
used to love coming to the fat buddah but had an awful experience. I asked for crackers as a starter and got told that the chefs hadn't made any however I could have yesterdays old ones. The kitchen had ran out of chips. When I ordered a second cocktails they arrived warm as the bar had ran out of ice. The chicken was tough and not nice.
Was quite angry you had a cocktail making session on with screaming hen du whilst am trying to have a romantic meal
The menu is not as extensive as the last time we visited and that was disappointing. The food quality was average. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic.
Service was poor, waitress got order wrong missed my daughters potatoes off by the time they came the rest of our food was cold the meat was dry and chewy like it was cooked previously and had been warmed up for us in a microwave. Very disappointed
Went for “date night” last night. We booked a restaurant to go for nice food and enjoy each other’s company. It was like being in a night club. The music was so kid we could not hear each other, my partner is profoundly deaf so found the loud music incredibly difficult to manage. Even the waiting staff had to ask us to repeat ourselves when placing order. The lady who took our order spoke to me the entire time like my partner couldn’t speak for himself, completely ignorant considering he can lip read..... felt like a presumption was made which is just sheer ignorance. Three things unavailable from the menu which made the starter menu limited We prebooked and the restaurant was not busy yet we were put on a side table with the speakers directly above us and advised we could not move. I’d appreciate this if it was busy but it was not. The food itself was very plain...... my massaman curry and his Malaysian curry pretty much tasted the same...... chicken with peppers and a little watery sauce. We were overcharged for drinks although this was corrected after I pointed it out. As for the staff...... well one spent time sorting on his phone, one was more concerned about the hen party that was in and the other who asked us twice how the food was the second it was put down on the table...... I was advised there was no nhs discount in this place yet I’ve since been advised there is. Not a great experience for either of us and definitely will not be returning
Service was very poor all the way throughout the time we were there. The waiter appeared as though he did not want to be there whatsoever. I was very excited to try the food and when it arrived I was extremely disappointed. The prawns in the starter were bland. The prawn crackers we purchased tasted as though they were out of date, some were chewy and some were rock hard, it seemed as if they had been left out for days. The rice that we got with our mains seemed to be uncle bens rice with egg added into it, also completely flavourless. I purchased the honey chilli chicken for my main, it arrived barely warm and swimming in a bowl of what appeared to be oil with honey in it, which was not tasty at all. Also, my chicken was burnt. My partner purchased the katsu chicken which was also completely flavourless. I am not one to complain, but I was very disappointed with my experience at fat Buddha.
Service was not great. Took nearly 20 minutes for someone to take our order.
We were very impressed. We had Wowcher deals and what great value.... Cocktails were lovely and the platters were amazing.... Live band was very good and created a fab atmosphere... We all had a great time. Special mention about the doorman so friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. I will be submitting a review on Trip Advisor
Visited using a burger/cocktail voucher and would certainly recommend! Great food and drinks, delivered with top-notch service!
Beautiful venue-ideal place for me to eat as I’m a coeliac and have great gluten free menu, I love the Buddha cocktail. The waitress was absolutely lovely And she couldn’t do enough for us- 5 star meal and dining experience
Lovely food & drink. Will dine here again
The food we had was so nice and the service was great, would definitely come back and recommend to friends
Service was minimal. Wasn’t very busy at all but took ages to even get drinks. I’ve been for food at Fat Buddha before about a year ago and I would say the portion size as well as the quality has most definitely declined, especially considering the price as well as an automatic 10% service charge. All of the staff just kind of seemed like they couldn’t really be bothered.
I’ve been to fat Buddha before Newcastle and Durham and loved it so we booked for my boyfriends 30th and were extremely disappointed the menu has been changed. I wish we’d been told and I would have booked somewhere else. The menu was limited there was no coconut rice and I found my meal the honey chilli chicken bland and flavourless
Very poor. Having been to Fat Budda in Durham, Sunderland and Newcastle before, fairly shocked how poor the food was. The service was also disorganized. No idea what has happened here as the Newcastle Fat Budda used to impress. Massive backward step in terms of food and service.
As we arrived we were told to take a seat. After waiting 20 minutes for the waiter to return who had a black eye and no waiter service skills he informed us that they had made a mistake and we could no longer be served due to the chefs been sent home. Very poor service and felt disgusted as this was our anniversary and we had travelled 108miles to specifically dine here that night
Lovely food and drinks, lovely staff will be back 👍😬😬
Fantastic customer service, food lovely !! will definitely be back
Myself and my boyfriend came to fat Buddha yesterday for a nice treat. We were greeted and sat immediately but after this point it seemed as though we were none existent to the staff. There was a 21st birthday at the bar so I was fully understanding of the fact that it would take a little longer than usual however there were numerous occasions where the staff were just stood talking whilst we we clearly waiting for our food. Our waiter seemed to be the only one actually doing his job and he was rushing all over in order to see to all the customers whilst the other members of staff stood and had conversations at the bar. He took our drink and food orders quickly but due to the bar staff talking, and one very obviously flirting with the customers from the 21st party, our drinks came half way through our main meal (bearing in mind we had also had starters) which to me was quite frustrating as coming from a similar work environment, I understand it can be stressful but to blatantly stand around instead of working was very annoying to watch. However, the food was lovey and when the cocktails were eventually made, they were nice too. I don’t know if it was a staffing issue or the staff in general but the experience wasn’t what we’d expected at all. However, credit to the young boy who waited on all the tables and did as many of the drinks he could while the others stood around.
Very poor waiter service all night. Stood at entrance to restaurant and was ignored by several members of staff. Place was freezing cold.
We booked the meal for my partner’s birthday. On arrival we were provided with a set menu deal which could be ordered alongside the main menu. A couple of minutes later the waitress came back to advise that only the set menu was available to order, but my partner didn’t want anything from this menu. The waitress was very helpful and checked with the kitchen that salt and chilli chicken could be ordered and this was able to be done. However when this arrived it seemed like this had just been thrown together quickly as there was little taste. We ordered 2 drinks from the cocktail menu but incorrect drinks were brought to the table, from another waitress who was not originally serving us. All in all it was a disappointing meal as we have enjoyed our previous visits, the only real positive was the waitress who was friendly and accommodating. We didn’t take her name but she had pink hair.
I hadn’t been to Fat Buddha for a couple of years but they never fail to impress. Attentive and helpful staff, and the food was great too. Would highly recommend and I’ll definitely be returning.
