The food was delicious, the portions were well sized. However there was some confusion regarding set menus and the cocktail deals. When we first arrived we asked our server about the weekly cocktail deal. We were told that the cocktails need to be the same cocktails. So we order 4 pornstars, they were lovely. Then we looked at the set menu. £15 for a starter, main and a side. As we ordered a prawn toast, honey chilli chicken and seaweed, we were told the seaweed would be charged as an extra as the rice was the side dish. However the menu said that the honey chilli chicken came with a choice of rice. This meant that there was not benefit to ordering the set menu. When ordering our second round of drinks we have another waitress, who advised the cocktail offer was a mix and match on the first 3 cocktails on the menu and mojitos. Again some of these cocktails made the deal redundant, and cost more in some cases. Although the staff didn’t seem to all have the same information about the set menu’s or deals. They were all friendly and courteous. I would definitely recommend Fat Buddha to any friends visiting Newcastle.
Very disappointed, service was terrible. Waited 20 minutes just for plates to be cleared away, never mind trying to pay!! The food was not good at all. No taste when the dish is supposed to be spicy. Won’t be back
We arrived to the establishment as the only customers, the duck we ordered as a sharing starter was lukewarm and just not what we expected, we then ordered salt and pepper chilli chicken which came out and was rock hard and dry. Was very disappointed with the food as been several times before and never had an issue!
Service and attentiveness from staff was not very good. The food was good for the student discount we had. Not a popular place for sunday
waited 30 minutes for starters and then 40 minutes for mains.
Fantastic food, great service and good value for money. Portion sizes were really good. Will definitely be back in the very near future
Food was excellent, however took a long time for our food and drinks to come.
The service was absolutely disgraceful. We didn't get our first round of drinks until the starters arrived which took about 20-30mins. Asked for another round of drinks once our plates from starters were taken away. Again drinks didn't arrive until we were nearly finished our mains. 3 of us had the honey chicken. The chicken was very tough. The bar and restaurant was not busy for a Saturday evening at 7.30pm. The ladies toilets lighting was awful could barely see in front of you. The actual toilet was broken a long with a tap. We will not be coming again
Have had an amazing experience here once before however for a Friday it was very quiet yet service was slow, our coffee sat on the bar for 20mins before we had to ask for them then asked should I take them off the bill? Surely you don’t need to ask if I wish to pay for cold coffee. They also served y a prawn dish that was not described as spicy that was in fact spicy as hell so for the recipient who isn’t fond of very spicy food couldn’t eat it and had to swap dishes relucantly only to be met with a shrug when staff were told about this claiming they’d just done the menus and it must have been forgotten. Overall a bit of a poor night
Amazing food as always, quite a few things out of stock but didn't ruin our night
Food was delicious Drinks were lovely and on offer which is a bonus!!
Visited this restaurant tonight for the first time after hearing so many good reports about it. Ordered 2 pints of coke, both so flat had no fizz in what so ever and totally tasteless. Spring roll starter was disappointing, luke warm and flavourless. Duck and pancakes (if you’d even call it duck) more the texture of mince like tiny little pieces, fatty, funny taste and wasn’t shredded like you’d usually find in a restaurant like this. Finally I ordered honey chilli chicken for main, sauce was beautiful but the chicken was very over cooked, chewy and asif it had been stood a long time so yet again another course coming out cold. Service wasn’t the best, staff didn’t have a clue what they were doing, asked numerous times for some extra napkins, staff kept walking straight past our plates and seen we’d been finished a while yet chose to ignore us and we had to ask the waitress twice for the bill! Overall very disappointing visit and will not be returning
Food and service excellent, the tables and floor however certainly required attention to cleaning
Appreciated the round of drinks on the house from Molly - the only good thing about the evening. The service was terrible. The food was terrible. If there was an option of a minus stars for the review, that's what we would have hit. We will certainly not be returning.
First time I have been to the premises since Fat Buddha moved upstairs. Table booked but our party of 4 were the only ones in. Only one waitress serving who tried to offer a table which hadn't been cleared from previous people. Very dark inside and cold, same music played over, not very inviting. Food was ok but sorry, used to love this place but wont be back.
Food was lovely and couldn't be faulted. However we were misled when ordering a starter and then proceeded to be charged for a sharing platter of duck for £10 instead of the individual starter of duck somosas charged around £3.50. We did not realise this until the bill came at the end and felt quite misled with the money we were charged
The reason I gave one star for the above is only because I couldn't complete the review with giving a star other wise I would have gave zero. Arrived on time took one look around and walked out!! I know it's Octoberfest and I certainly don't deny anyone a good time but quite frankly we we're shocked by the state of the place, there was broken glass, empty bottles and glasses everywhere including the floor amd tables the place was disgusting looked filthy and no way could you have a meal and talk in that horrible atmosphere and the staff didn't seem bothered about us or the mess. So I doubt very much I will be back - first impressions and all that !!!
Appalling service from waiter, cold food. Tasteless, unclean environment, poor organisation..... By far the worst fat bhudda I have experienced
Great way to spend a Sunday Afternoon! 10/10!! Thankyou 😃
Terrible service ! Most of starters not available ! Poor atmosphere ! Did not know how to make coffee ! Espresso martinis were terrible
Soggy tempura prawn.s Chewy beef in black bean NO DESERTS REALLY
Very friendly staff
Table was so sticky that our arms and bags were sticking to it, service really, really slow. Staff were all lovely but maybe not enough working. Waited 25 mins for drinks and had to ask after 20 mins for menus. Table next to us hadvto ask for cutlery after their food came. Service really slow in general, food nice. Disappointed as heard good things!
