nice place for high tea, casual and cozy
The Shang Hai Tang afternoon tea is really good. Every piece of it has been delicately made and the taste is awesome. Love the TWG tea which went so well with it. I will go there again with my family the next time. Thank you also for being so attentive throughout the 2 hours there. My friend and I felt really pampered.
The atmosphere does not appear to be conducive for an afternoon tea session due to its co sharing as a bar
We had the beautiful afternoon tea. It was exquisite, beautifully presented. Welcoming and attentive staff.
Some of the service staff’s attitude were not reflective of what the hotel’s standard should be.
Food was really great, especially the savory items. Desserts were hit and misses. The overall food display was on point. However not the best ambiance.
It was an enjoyable tea .. my compliments to the chef for the creativeness in the food .. and to the service crew, gabriel & jong, for their attentiveness & excellent service
Pleasant environment to hang out with close friends. Just that the Aircon is wayyyyyy too cold, and this is coming from one who loves winter. Too much sweets in the high tea set vs savory. Some might prefer it this way. Personally, I would have preferred a better balance.
Booking was easy and also easy to change timing. Food was delicious and presentation was beautiful. Just that OCBC had listed Antidote on its dining promotions but the staff said there wasn't such promotion for ocbc. And the available promotion for Citibank required the physical card, which nowadays i would think people hardly carry around since usage of mobile pay is so prevalent like Samsung pay which I'm using. Anyway was a good experience for my kids celebrating their birthday in advance, though maybe no return visit from us.
It was an enjoyable and pleasant experience. Staff were very efficient and friendly.
Everything about this afternoon tea was pleasant. The service was always great. I also enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. It is a smaller lounge for afternoon tea, but it also means that it won't be loud. The tea set was impressive and also delicious. I enjoyed the savoury selection and the scones more than the desserts though. The desserts didn't particularly stand out.
We must give applause to Maggie’s attentive and tip top service! We were greeted with smiles and friendliness throughout our dining experience! Awesome staff!
Greet place to dine
Server could smile a little more to be more pleasant. It took repeating thrice to inform her that she had taken away the chest of drawers with our takeaway biscuits inside before she begrudgingly handed us new biscuits... For happy afternoon tea goers, her sour face could have been quite a mood damper
The waitresses should signal the end of the high tea in a more friendly manner or ahead of time...instead we felt harried to leave and eat as quickly as possible.
main course selection is limited
Thank you :)
Impressed that the waitress remembered that I come before. Waitresses are also friendly and polite.
Will be back again.
Friendly Staff! Food presentation very nice!
Was rather disappointed with national day afternoon tea selection despite clarifying with dining reservation agent that it was not a national day afternoon tea set over the phone. Would not have chosen to dine here if I had known prior. Did not feel that it was worth the high price for what I got and could have gone to some other hotel buffet for that price. Service was alright but could see a lack of staff. Overall rather lacklustre experience especially for a special occasion. Was expecting more for being such a highly raved afternoon tea destination.
Took my sister to antidote to celebrate her birthday. Let’s just say that I was sorely disappointed that I could not deliver her a fun day of eating. I’m not sure if they know how high tea works, but when tea is served a teaspoon should accompany the tea set and the milk should be enough for one not half a person’s consumption of milk in black tea. Food is instagram worthy not palette or mouth watering deliciousness at all. Considering the prices the restaurant is charging it’s not worth it. Service was ok, not very attentive considering it’s a high end venue. Overall, this was not a great eating experience.
