About The Anchor Line Bar and Grill
The Anchor Line showcases the best of Scottish produce with influences from both sides of the Atlantic. Think fresh oysters, lobster and scallops, the finest scotch beef, ribs and burgers to die for.
There is an extensive cocktail list with classics lying alongside some of our own signature twists, and a drinks list with a strong whisky, bourbon and gin influence. We offer New York and Glasgow craft beers, and a wine list incorporating some of the finest that America and the rest of the world has to offer.
We are open for lunch and dinner, and with fantastic private dining facilities we combine a casual and welcoming dining environment with first class service and produce.
Set in the beautiful surroundings of the completely restored grade A1 listed Anchor Line building on St Vincent Place, The Anchor Line showcases the best of Scottish produce with influences from both sides of the Atlantic.
Food very disappointing. Service also poor no one even pourd wine. Really disappointed expected far better.
Good food, great cheese board, excellent service.
Repeat customer. Seated promptly and served by friendly staff. Price good and value for money. Menu varied and suited our needs.Food tasty and good portions Shall definitely return.
Was served an orange liqueur supposed to be Cointreau. When Ice is added to this drink it should immediately turn cloudy. Spoke to the manager who insisted it was Cointreau. He then opened a new bottle and when ice was added it immediately turned cloudy. He said he didn’t understand why the first drink hadn’t done this saying perhaps it was the shape of the glass?? Very disappointed to think the Anchor Line would substitute and sell a cheaper version of this drink but try to pass it off and charge for Cointreau.
My mum my 2 girls and myself had a beautiful lunch here on Saturday. The service was outstanding and food just amazing. I can’t recommend Anchorline enough.
Booked for 5:45pm on a Friday and ordered from the lunch and early evening menu - and was very pleased with overall experience. Exceptional food, very presentable house white, excellent service, quiet table in the back room - close enough to enjoy the the piano music without disturbing conversation. I will be back again but you now have a lot to live up to - you have raised my expectations!!
Great meal only real complete is a waiter reaching over our meals to collect glasses napkins etc.
My first visit with a friend for lunch excellent! Great service no rush and the food delicious! Lovely menu chose the smoked salmon then the chick pea lentil and chicken curry because I saw someone else having it and I was not disappointed it was superb!
Mice atmosphere for a Tuesday evening, really enjoyed it.
Great food quality compared to the price! Great atmospehere!
I’ve been a few times but this is the first when it was quiet (Monday I guess). In all honesty the biggest issue I had was the service. I think the word I’d use would be inattentive, had to wait quite a bit for a drinks order, staff seemed uninterested. Disappointed especially as I had taken two colleagues to dinner with high expectations
We had a super Sunday dinner at Anchor Line great venue good service lovely table at the window meal was excellent ( except Yorkshire puddings! Which were Solid! Like a biscuit) but will defo be back to sample other items on the extensive menu
Excellent place to eat and drink, very good atmosphere at the bar prior to dining, Food and service very good.
Had an amazing meal will definitely be back
First time at Anchor Line...Will definitely be back..
Would definitely go back
Food was very nice service was great but the cost of drinks was extremely expensive
Lovely restaurant and great service. The egg that came with my risotto had been overcooked and I don’t think the curry should be retained on the menu; just not that great and not that relevant. Otherwise really good.
Excellent food hospitality. A real Glasgow gem.
This is a great Restaurant, great atmosphere, the best service, nothing is too much trouble, the cocktails are superb so is the wine at a very competitive price. The food is superb, try the Calamari or Prawn cocktail, if you don't enjoy these, you need to get your own fishing boat. George and Geraldina.
Great atmosphere and excellent, friendly service. The meal overall was delicious. Only slight negative was that the herbs and spices overpowered the sea bass (although the fish was perfectly cooked).
Food was good in parts but a degree of mediocrity on some dishes...service was average at best. I wouldn't rush back or particularly recommend to anyone.
Nice meal, pleasant environment, staff all friendly and helpful.
Anchor line was recommended by a friend ... we had a nice table but thought everything was average ...the starters were tasteless .... our main courses were fine. The staff were so busy so we sat for a while. We would not rush back.
Restaurant was a bit too dark (one of the other diners was using the torch facility on her phone to read the menu) but food & wine were excellent
