At Amisfield, whether you’re a seasoned local or from halfway around the globe, we pride ourselves on taking guests out of their culinary comfort zone. There’s an element of surprise in everything we bring to the table.
Our ‘Trust the Chef’ experience, made up of multiple smaller courses with some designed for sharing is the perfect way to take a leap of faith. It has been Amisfield’s signature menu since the Bistro opened in 2005.
Amazing location and food was 5 star!
The three course menu was too much food and should have ended with a sweet course. The first two courses were both salty and both in a broth When we gave our feed back to the waiter he told us that that would never happen as that is how it is
Amazing! Could not fault it.
Incredible service, beautiful setting and the food was exceptional. Thank you for an amazing experience!
The food was very good and the building was beautiful. Our dining experience was let down by the front of house, no one smiled or seemed happy to be there. The gentleman (whom we assumed was manager) only talked bluntly, seemed rushed and approached our table awkwardly. Great food, just needs friendlier and more informative service.
Being seated next to the kitchen is less than ideal. Unfortunately we missed out on the ambience but the food definitely made up for it. Apart from the disappointing blonde hair in the truffle and the somewhat disgruntled waitress, we had a good time. Decent enough to want to have our wedding with you (that’s how good the food and Dave was!)
Heaven on earth.....
We had such a wonderful evening with a party of 9. The service was attentive, friendly and generous. The food was superb and wine pairings were even more exceptional. Even the non-alcoholic pairing exceeded expectations. A wonderfully orchestrated experience. Will be back the next time we are in Queenstown.
Exquisite food, full of surprises.
Since the last time we were here, we found the portions small and quite odd!! Some more sides with greenery is needed. The maître dee was unobliging, when we weren’t happy with our table. We were never offered a wine tasting. Our waitres was surely and her uniform neck line was dirty.
The entire experience was a pleasure - so glad we came and will definitely be back!
Absolutely lovely experience. Warm and inviting. Food is terrific and paired wines were very well suited and delicious!
It seemed strange that with 6 matched wines only one was a red wine - in the home of Pinot Noir! - and two Sav Blancs (somewhat unpopular at the best of times). That was a little bit disappointing. Service was lovely and the staff did a great job.
Staff were friendly. Food so very delicious. Some set menu locations go abit too over the top with exotic food, and Amisfield stuck with produce that was simple but cooked and tasted 10/10. Would defiantly return upon our next visit back to Queenstown.
Wonderful Meal and it was substantial. Imaginative presentation and well worth the visit. Wine pairing was excellent and Highly recommend.
We were booked in for lunch and loved it soo much we stayed for dinner too. Have been recommending Amisfield to everyone.
An incredible dinning experience and the wine match was excellent
Thanks for having us for a late, long lunch yesterday! Squeezing in two late editions to our booking was greatly appreciated as well. Food and service was fantastic
Amisfield was a fantastic setting for our wedding dinner. The food was incredibly delicious; I lived in New Zealand for three years prior and I can confidently say this was the best meal I’ve ever had in NZ. The wines were superb and wonderful matches to the food, and the service was so warm, genuine, and friendly. The whole experience was just perfect! Thank you Amisfield team. ~Sarah and Malcolm Nauman
Beautiful presentation of food. Each course was exciting and theatrical. Unfortunately we did not feel it was priced appropriately. We had better tasting meals at restaurants around NZ (Kobe, Millhouse, Black estate, Pegasus Bay) for half the price. I guess you pay for the experience which was great but wouldn't do it again.
We had the 5 course with paired wines. Everything was amazing! A true culinary experience. We were very looked after from our host Chloe and couldnt rate it high enough. Looking forward to coming back next year.
Absolutely incredible food, beautiful matching wine, amazing setting. Loved our dinner at Amisfield.
Third visit to Amisfield, we had a great afternoon but disappointed we couldn’t order of the Al carte menu and had to do trust the chef this time. Hopefully our visit next year this will have changed.
Every dish was divine and the matching wines delightful. The service was excellent with very knowledgeable staff. Atmosphere lovely and location spectacular. Thank you
Always wonderful. My all time favourite lunchtime restaurant
