About Allard's on the Quay
Tapas Bar, Cocktail Lounge & Restaurant
Could not have asked for better venue for my wife’s birthday celebrating with our family. Food, Staff were first class, I have posted my thanks on social media and can only hope Allards and Staff continue to thrive well in to the future
Great atmosphere and quick service. Will definitely be recommending to others.
Excellent food, service was a little slow and distracted
Waitresses very attentive, lots of menu choice for all dietary needs, shown to table without delay.
You have a wonderful premises with excellent staff. Our evening was fantastic with great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Vicky was particularly attentive and couldn't do enough for us. keep up the good work
I really like Allard's on the Quay, I've eaten there about five times since it opened and wish them the very best. I mentioned to a staff member on one occasion that the pavement in front and more so the bottom of the steps immediately by the front were absolutely covered in cigarette ends, I had seen prospective customers wincing at the sight and as it detracts from the otherwise lovely new restaurant it would be simple to get it brushed up, but it was worse when I walked by on Saturday. Someone managing the place should take a pride in this element of the external the appearance, but I'll be back.
Had a lovely night with friends...waiter was very attentive food was delicious and great atmosphere...would totally recommend
Lovely dining experience
Food was nice, lovely decor but waiting staff couldn't care a less. It was like they were being forced to work there as punishment by their parents. Too busy stood talking at the bar. After main meal we wanted desserts but after half an hour of waiting to try to catch their eye we flagged on down against his will and asked for bill instead.
2nd time within 2 weeks, superb food each time and amazing decor and very friendly staff
Lovely decor nice feel to the place
Very nice food and good service
Fantastic service, quick and friendly. Felt very comfortable
Food could have been hotter. Particularly the flat bread which I think had been ready before the other food ordered. Room upstairs was also pretty cold compared to downstairs area.
Unfortunately the food and service was not what I would expect for a new restaurant . A soggy ceaser salad , cubed halloumi and chorizo and a ‘fuzzy’ prawn - I look forward to returning when the food and service gets sorted
We were seated upstairs and it was freezing!
Food/ location/service and decor were brilliant.
Been here a few times recently. Both visits were at the Tynemouth restaurant. visit on 21/12/18 the food was outstanding and the service matched. Visit on 02/01/19 the food was good, but not as good as the previous visit. We ordered from the Tapas menu pulled brisket. first time was perfect, second time was poor. It was almost like we had been served the left over beef and gravy from Christmas/NYE. As always, the service on this occasion can not be faulted. The front of house staff are outstanding...
The food and atmosphere was great as usual and although I have only given the service 3 stars I cannot fault the girl who served us she was fab but rushed off her feet. When we arrived at 2.30 there seemed to be just her serving the whole of the top floor which was busy. She did a fantastic job but we waited 20 minutes for our drinks and 1 hour 15 for food. This is to be expected with one person serving. She had to take all the orders for upstairs serve the customers at the bar and bring all the food out. It was simple far to much for one person to do but she handled the situation so professionally and is a credit to the restaurant. Food and atmosphere great as per usual. We were happy to wait as it was a busy New Year’s Day but if you had one more member of staff on upstairs it would have made the service better. More staff did arrive towards the end of our meal which helped the situation. All in all a great New Year’s Day
Amazing food and service a group of 14 of us and nothing was a trouble for the staff. Would strongly recommend a visit and try any of the dishes. Not one complaint from us. We definitely will be returning and we all have recommended it to others
2nd time I have been and was as impressed as the first time. Great food in beautiful surroundings. Will be back again soon. Thanks
Great Food and Superb Service
Very nice will certainly return, an asset to the quay
Excellent friendly service, very fast to seat and serve and helpful staff. Dead hot environment though and food wasn't as good as it normally is in Tynemouth Allard's, though I'd imagine it'll improve as the kitchen gets more experience. Thanks!
Limited choice - menu items unavailable. Pot of tea for 2 barely had 2 cups and teabags poor quality Bacon sandwiches served toasted with no warning! Not what we ordered. Overall not to the standard of Tynemouth Allards
