About Alderley Edge Hotel

Description brought to you by Manchester Confidential:

Modern British for the plush Cheshire set
Expect pristine fine dining with an emphasis on local produce, elegant presentation and number of different takes on an ingredient on the plate. Décor is bold and not always cohesive but that doesn’t take away from the exclusive nature of this Cheshire favourite, which includes a brasserie serving retro classics as well as a formal restaurant. Surrounded by footballers and food fans, choose from good value lunch, a la carte, tasting and vegetarian menus, as well as smaller portions and options for children in the main restaurant. Chef Chris Holland held his own on Great British Menu 2013 and seasonal dishes include Hebden Bridge grouse with smoked pumpkin, sloe gin, hibiscus jam and hazelnut or Goosnargh duck, smoked beetroot juice, foraged elderberries and tarragon emulsion. Desserts such as a pink Champagne “Iced Lolly” with Champagne sherbet espuma and crispy violets inject a
Humourous and fashionably tropical aspect to proceedings, and there’s a local cheese board and house-baked bread. Wines are a tour de force. Look out for the value Bin End selection and pages of rose and dessert options."

Review by Manchester Confidential's Jonathan Schofield
The Alderley has a cracking brasserie menu of good value and great flavours. It’s a deliberately and self-consciously ‘retro’ menu which could be irritating if not delivered with such panache.
