About 64 Degrees Brighton
Recently hailed by the Guardian as “Food-wise, the most exciting thing to hit Brighton for years” – 64 degrees style of modern dining has become the go to hotspot in the city.
Nestled in the old fishing quarter of the lanes – the restaurant created by chef proprietor Michael Bremner – features an open kitchen that is the focal point of the dining experience.
Seated at the pass guests can interact with the chef’s as they prepare, plate & relocate the dishes to eager diners.
The ever changing menu features a selection of modern, innovative & above all delicious plates of food – designed so that you can order several to share & enjoy.
The drinks menu also offers fine examples of locally produced wines, craft beers & English spirits.
Always consistent textures of food everytime. Never default the flavours. Worth every penny..
Lovely place to eat. A very relaxed environment to try some great combinations. Very interactive and enjoyed watching the food being cooked before my eyes. Will definitely return. Cheers
Really lovely atmosphere, attentive staff but not too much. Explained all the foods and felt very welcome. More of an experience than a conventional meal however which we loved this time round.
Great food, lovely intimate relaxed atmosphere. Service excellent and attentive without being intrusive. Been here twice now and it’s been a real treat on both occasion.
Great food , great to watch the chefs cooking in front of you. Great value.
Very disappointing experience. I have eaten here twice before when the experience was fantastic but this time it was very poor and over priced for what it was. All 4 of us felt it was trying to be innovative but failed. The sushimi type fish was soggy & flavorless; the pork very rubbery; the chocolate & cauliflower was very unpleasant and the cabbage & bechemel was dreadful - the cabbage needed a sharp knife to hack through and the sauce was like custard..... the girls who served us, though friendly and efficient, didn't know what the ingredients were when we asked them for more indepth explanations. The final insult was when we were getting ready to leave (just waiting for one of our party to return from the loo) we were rudely asked to leave and wait outside. We knew we only had a limited seating time so didn't have a desert, though the staff had tried to encourage us to have one. Had we deceided to have desert we would have left much later and the manner in which we were 'ejected' was rather unnecessary. Based on this visit, I shan't be recommending this restaurant and its doubtful whether I'll be returning. So sad - 64 Degrees used to be such a great restaurant.
Third time here, never disappoints. Haven’t been since my wife became vegan, but she also had an amazing experience. 5 stars. Will be back soon
Thank you, another perfect scrumptious meal, with superb friendly service - one of the very best that Brighton has to offer
Scrummy food, loved being up at the pass too- would saw 6 dishes is too many, was so full I could barely touch the last dish! Would love to come back again when in Brighton.
On a positive note, the chefs and staff were very friendly. However, for the price we paid we should have been pampered more... wine topped up into our glasses, water topped up etc. I wanted the food to be spectacular, and although good, it didn't quite live up to the hype, for example, romaine lettuce with anchovies and some dressing. I could do that- I so wanted a wow factor and felt let down. But the wine was lovely and great watching the chefs!
I’ve marked down the atmosphere because, we booked and requested to be seated at the pass. Unfortunately when we arrived there was no space so we were at a table, we were then moved half way through our meal. It’s a completely different vibe art the pass, really good. But the tables really not very comfy.
'above all delicious' - goal achieved! Highlights - sea salt on the beetroot, everything about the raviolli, cubes of pickled apple on the lamb, the cruellest blow was the final course: braised cabbage with hollandaise - so,so delicious, but i was so, so full.
Loved the food. Wine a bit on expensive side.
Loved it! We already placed a five star review on TripAdvisor (David R - 10 August). We just returned to the UK after living in San Francisco the last 26 years - a serious & competitive foodie mecca - and your restaurant would thrive there. Every interaction with a staff member from the chefs (we sat at counter) to front of house, was great. Food was outstanding - every dish. Great value.
Innovative and delicious dishes, coupled with the best wine and service. It's a must if you're in Brighton
The one to beat . Great new menu & wine list
Amazing taster menu
Tiny but great atmosphere and food. A lot is imagination skill went into the dishes. At least 5-6 sharing plates between two would be necessary. Interesting shortish wine list.
Such a nice restaurant sitting in a back alley. Love its coziness. Every dish offered certain degrees of surprises. Will definitely come back if in town.
Very small but very nice food and staff were freindly
Great experience. Very intimate and loved sitting at the pass. Brilliant to see such talent at work. The chefs were very subtle in keeping a close eye on when you were ready for the next course. This i liked as didn’t feel pressured or rushed. We had the tasting menu and a wine pairing. I enjoyed all of the dishes and wines and thought it was very good value. Top 3 dishes for me were; 1. Hispi Cabbage (loved every bit of it) 2. Cuttlefish (the brown crumb and sweet corn salsa were a delight!) 3. St Brides Chicken (loved the pistachio crust) The wines were well matched and well paced with the service.
As soon as we walked in the dooor we were immediately put at ease and made to feel very welcome. It was a lovely place with a great atmosphere that is synonymous with the Brighton lanes. We will be definitely coming back and fingers crossed the beef wavy wontons will still be on the ever changing and delicious menu. Thanks for a great experience
Delicious tasting menu and relaxed confident service, will definitely be back
