Best food in New Zealand
We're from Wellington and this is our second visit to 50-50 as we enjoyed our first so much. We were really impressed again. Favourite dishes this time were the tahr croquettes and the snapper. Lovely service too. This restaurant is a real little gem.

The food was amazing, as always, beautifully presented, and every mouthful brought a new taste sensation. We just wish that the noise level could be kept a bit lower.

We are SO lucky to have Helen and her team on the Kāpiti Coast. Helen is a true artist when it comes to designing her masterpiece dishes. With each visit you are transported into another world through the dégustation wonderlands that she creates. Each and every bite, right down to the last morsel, is sublime. This is Michelin quality. If I could give Helen more than five stars, I would - she is a treasure.
Helen and her team are exceptional in their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure the whole dining experience is sensational. We had a long list of dietary restrictions which they seamlessly accommodated and the food and service was flawless. The meal was on a par with great degustation dinners we have been fortunate to enjoy in Michelin star Restaurants around the world. We’re very grateful to have this gem in our neighborhood in Kapiti. Thanks Helen and team.., we’ll be back soon.
Three of us had the 6-course menu and every course was amazing. A shout out, also, to the great service which helped make our night special. A plea from all of us: please never take the Lemon Cake with fennel, licorice and goat's yoghurt off the menu. It's crazy delicious and so rare to find a dessert that isn't sickly sweet.
We found the degustation menu excellent - indeed we no longer need to go to Wellington for such a gustatory experience! I loved the matched wine experience also - some really delightful surprises. Our daughter has now been with her husband, and we will bring our son and daughter for the September menu! Actually we are planning to come for each menu from now on, if we can.
Really enjoyed the degustation, the best desert ever experienced! Will be back!

Outstanding evening once again. The 6 course degustation was incredible hard to choose a fav dish all were awesome. Loved the moki. The dumplings were amazing and dessert was the best I have ever had. The lemon cake was chewy and delicious, the licorice flavor and mix of sorbet and mousse amazing. Staff awesome attentive and friendly and great atmosphere. Can wait to come again
