Food didn't taste nice, slow service. but stunning views
We enjoyed our dinner here. We were greeted and seated promptly which is always a great way to start off. There were some wait times due to short staff but the staff were informative and apologetic and the scenery is so beautiful we didn't mind the wait. All our meals were very tasty. Steak was cooked to our liking (Medium) and the fish of the day was also very good (snapper). We would visit here again.
A great meal in a good location
It was very difficult to find a park
Thank you very much for accommodating us, we enjoyed our food very much.
Our waitperson Matt was very attentive and efficient and looked after us extremely well. Love the location - it's the perfect place for lunch on a sunny autumn afternoon. Will definitely recommend to others!
Awesome customer service 🤙🏽
I had brought tje $35 Main meal for 2 from GrabOne. It was my hubbys birthday & we booked prior. Absolutely wonderful service. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, cooked to perfection. 100% worth it, great menu also. Thankyou
Excellent dining experience - we will be back
Our waitress was lovely. The food was of very very poor quality and freshness. Please don’t waste your money. This restaurant obviously just cruises on its great location and the fact that it relies upon the tourists - not expecting repeat business. The oysters were served warm, as they were placed down we both commented upon the awful smell. The prawns were over cooked and chalky in texture. Go somewhere else.
Very attentive service. The hand written birthday card was a lovely touch! I thought the interior was a bit dated.
Amazing service! the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was 5/5 amazing flavour combos and tastes.
Great food and service. Poor weather outside but still a view.
We had to send back 4 seafood chowders as they had no fish in them - however the manager kindly took them off the bill. Our service was very slow to the point that I would have to fetch the wine we ordered from the bar and we had to keep reminding the service staff that we hadn't received some aspects of our order. The service staff did their very best but it appeared there were short staffed and the staff were new and not trained appropriately. We were a table of 11 and ate out for 10 nights - every other establishment provided fabulous food and service - this was a huge disappointment for us as we visit your establishment every yr while holidaying in Paihia.
Beautiful setting over the water with great service and lovely food
Very friendly service and staff. We had a great meal for New Year's Eve. Would definitely go back.
Felt very hot in a glass house with little air flow to cool it down. Beautiful view. Toilets had not been serviced. My fish main was really salty compared to my dining companion with the same meal.
Someone at the restaurant rang the day before to confirm our booking & prepayment so was excited to for family NYE dinner. Lady who called said that we were welcomed to come earlier like around 5pm as we were more likely to get a table by the water. When we got there however this was not what happened. When we arrive at 5:45pm, staff said that we couldn’t have our table until our booking at 6pm even though clearly all tables were free. So we sat in the bar area w our young kids. When we were showed to our table it was in the middle of the restaurant next to the main thoroughfare. We asked the manager if we could switch tables to be closer to the water and she said she couldn’t as tables had been allocated. I told her what the lady advised us yesterday and she said that was wrong. I asked the manager as no one else had turned up yet if we could move tables and she agreed reluctantly to move us closer to the water. When we told her our confusion w the message from yesterday she got upset (even angry) and defensive. When I said I realised they are busy on nye and that maybe communication was not consistent she rhetorically said ‘well it’s not a great start so far, you’ve obviously never worked on nye before.’ This was a shocking response. Besides I actually have worked as a waitress on nye before. Luckily we had a lovely waitress and even though she made a mistake by telling us we could order three courses from the set menu when I told her we only paid for the two course menu, she made up for the terrible attitude of her manager. Food, especially the lamb and mussels were fabulous! While we were there no other party sat at the table we were initially assigned or even the tables in between that table and the one were were eventually seated at. Interesting. Probably lessons for the restaurant- - clear messages and processes for staff working nye - assign a manager who can handle high stress restaurant situations professionally Visited Charlottes Kitchen the night after - similar location but totally different experience-amazing atmosphere, service & communication-wish we had booked there for nye.
Some staff were great but a couple could do with learning more about customer service. In most restaurants you can upsize an entree to a main if requested we received a flat out and somewhat rude no to this request. Not acceptable in a tourist destination where this would be expected from many visitors.
A very pleasant dining experience overall. Fabulous location and the service was very attentive. We will come back and do it all again, next time when we're in the area.
The dessert took 40 minutes and still didn't arrive. I understand and acknowledge there was staff sick, but a staff member at the bar ended up cancelling the dessert when we asked to bring the dessert with the bill so we could leave. After following up another 10 minutes later she said she cancelled it and basically wasted our time. A miscommunication that should of not occurred. Otherwise really good food and atmosphere.
Friendly attentive staff.
We had Christmas lunch at the restaurant. We found the food very bland, boiled up potatoes and asparagus for starter with no seasoning, no hazelnuts as per menu Main was blanched greenbeans with a dressing and salmon with again no flavour. The rice for the pork belly was undercooked. The dessert was ok.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant and the staff are great. Beautiful food and well looked after the entire evening
We were very dissapointed with the food. Chowders were all luke warm, All the chicken dinners were dry and tasteless. The ice cream desserts were served on warm plates. The pavlova was unedable. Our children could have cooked better meals. The service was slow and unproffesonal. Drinks took a very long time. No water on tables when clearly we had couple of people that were drinking to much. When we asked to light our candles on the table we were told there was no lighter or matches. We are sorry this is so harsh but we had come up as a group excited to be going out for dinner and the dinner was very poor.
