Having both been born and raised in Mexico, Jose and Mauricio know their stuff when it comes to Mexican food and drinks.
1910 is the combination of Jose’s expertise in mezcal and tequila, and Mauricio’s incredible cooking skills, bringing authentic Mexican flavours to the heart of Balham.
We are named after the year that saw the start of the Mexican revolution, which transformed Mexican culture and culminated in the Mexican constitution. Through 1910 we want to honor our ancestors and our families with authentic recipes, delicious drinks, and friendly service.

A hidden gem! I can't fault this restaurant - delicious food & drinks, great service & great atmosphere. Our order got lost in an issue with the printer but when this was pointed out it was rectified SUPER quickly with us being put to the top of the order list. Had a very enjoyable last supper before lockdown & looking forward to returning!
Food is always excellent, warm service and fun atmosphere.
Very tasty food and we had a nice bottle of Pinot Noir. Nice vibe. Service mixed e.g. empty cocktail glass sat on table for over an hour and one main arrived way before the other. Also management a little gung-ho at times. Team have a good passion and provide a good product. Prices generally very fair (except for the small cup of tortilla chip shards). Great to have 1910 in our 'hood - we'll be going again soon [Covid willing].

Tasty cocktails. New items on menu for día de los muertos was great. Servers should probably check in more often, but aside from that love it!
We have been to 1910 quite a few times and were one of the first customers through the door when it opened. We just found things to be not as great as normal - it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as tasty and fantastic as it usually is. We were also sat in line with the door - which kept being left open - so it just got uncomfortably cold. We really do love the place and were left a bit disappointed after this recent visit.

The service was excellent. The food outstanding. The best mezcal negroni( who knew?) I have ever had. If the restaurant didn’t have to close at 10pm we would definitely have overstayed our fabulous welcome! What a fantastic place!
Really tasty authentic Mexican! The pork tacos and tuna tostadas are incredible! I would recommend the quesadilla as they are pretty bland, but good for those that don’t like too much spice I suppose. Service was excellent. Will definitely be back!
I think the booking form was confusing because it didn’t offer an outdoor choice. Otherwise I loved it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We loved the food, drinks and the atmosphere! We’ve been meaning to pop in for a few months now and I’m pleased we chose this for an impromptu date night as we’ll certainly be heading back soon!
This was an epic experience. The tuna tostadas and fish taco were sensational. I can’t thanks the cooks enough and it was a pleasure meeting them. Pure joy. Thank you for having us!

I was refused entry with my young son to 1910 restaurant as I didn't have track and trace app on my phone. I was willing to leave my full required contact details which restaurant already had from my booking. The government’s guidance states that pubs and restaurants should not make using an NHS QR code (either through the app or on a smartphone) a precondition of entry.“Venues must not make the specific use of the NHS QR code a precondition of entry (as the individual has the right to choose to provide their contact details if they prefer),” the guidance says.This means that customers can choose to give their contact details manually by recording their name, their phone number or email address, and the date and arrival time for their visit. In groups of up to six people, a lead member of the group can record contact details on behalf of the rest of the group. The government recommends that contact details should be recorded electronically if possible but a paper record is acceptable - hospitality venues must also ensure there are manual options for people to leave contact details if they do not own a smartphone. My son was heartbroken by the experience and I don't think I'll be visiting this venue in the future. P.S.I rated food and drink with one star only because field is required. We didn't have obviously chance to try it.

Food was amazing. Service was great! George made us feel like we were actually eating with friends even though it was just my partner and I. Will go back many many times!!!
