About 1847 - Manchester
1847 Manchester is the original city centre restaurant focusing on vegetarian food. Moving from its original site during Autumn 2017 to new larger premises off King St. 1847 now offers a full cocktail bar alongside its full service restaurant.
Food was delicious, couldn't fault that or the service. Couple of reasons I gave 3/5 stars for recommending 1847, firstly we were told 3 times you had ran out of dishes/ingredients that we tried to order which I know can't always be helped, it was a Saturday but we booked for half 6 so not too late on and the restaurant wasn't overly packed out, also as not every option is vegan this limited us even more. Following on from that, it would be nice to see more vegan options, the gnocci sounded excellent but wasn't vegan :( also some of the menu sounded a bit confusing, as if you weren't really sure what to expect or what it was you were going to get!! But as I said the food we did have was absolutely faultless, nice one 1847 will definitely be back!
Very enjoyable meal, however little disappointing to run out of one of the vegan mains by 8pm on a Saturday. Service was friendly but there was some confusion with our order meaning the wrong main came out. Overall experience was good and we will return.
Thanks for looking after us.
I am so pleased 1874 reopened in Manchester 😊
Lovely food and I am not a vegetarian - attentive service.
The food was perfect. Service great. Love the simple calm decor. Will definitely be back
Love the new venue. As always the food was excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. If there was one improvement a fork and a spoon to eat dessert would be great !
Only fly in the ointment was a lack of coffee. You should at least have a filter coffee back-up. We'd come back as I really liked the vibe otherwise. Thanks!
Food was DELICIOUS, as were the cocktails and wine! Service was impeccable- friendly and attentive staff that seemed to be happy in their work! Great atmosphere and reasonably priced. Couldn’t fault it! Best meal, best night, I’ve had in a looooong time! THANK YOU so much!! I will definitely be recommending to everyone I know and will return as soon as possible.
I wouldn't ordinarily choose a vege/vegan restaurant but I was dining with a Vegan. Room was reasonably informal, staff friendly. Food was very, very good. I'm a part time carnivore and was very impressed with the flavours. I'll be back
Delicious food although the service was a little slow.
The new premises are nice and spacious but it's a pity there's no view out - it's a bit cave-like, especially since it was empty when we first arrived at lunchtime (though more tables were gradually occupied).
fantastic food, relaxed atmosphere, polite and efficient staff, added an unexpected highlight to our visit to Manchester
The piped music was a little distracting - but I did not ask to have it turned down. The service was excellent as was the food. I have already been back for a 3-course lunch. Thank you.
It was our first time at 1847 and not normally a vegetarian diner, but the food was very good, actually superb, starter, main and dessert all of equal quality..Cocktails first class...All in all a very good eating experience... Thank You
Only minor critique I have is that we ordered a bottle of red wine and it was served very cold. But aside from that everything was perfect as usual!
Lovely food and great service, thank you!
I had a lovely birthday meal with my husband. Every course was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. I really enjoyed the flavours of Japan in my tofu starter and my nashi pear dessert. The chestnut purée in my main of root vegetable gratin was the star of the dish. My husband had the duck egg to start, the cauliflower trio, and finished with the pressed apple with cobnuts, all of which were also delicious (I had a taste!) Our server Becki was friendly and just attentive enough, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. The new restaurant is much cosier than the old one, and the decor is bright and stylish. We didn't leave room for a cocktail, but we'll be back again soon!
Great food. ? Separate lunch deal would be a good idea
Lunch time £10 offer sounded good, but the main course was very small so I ended up ordering a second one. Beautiful decor, tasty food but it wasn't easy to attract the attention of the staff.
The food is amazing, always is. The new place is less formal than the old one, it has a different kind of vibe to it. It’s nice and I understand the reason for the change but it’s a shame too as it was the only more formal vegetarian place for special occasions and stuff. But like I said I understand why they’ve made the change and the food is still amazing.
The portions were a bit small but tasty and the cocktails were very good and very tasty. Overall good atmosphere!
This was our first time visiting since the relocation and we were delighted to find the food and service even better than before. The vegan options were wonderful, especially the starters, and our waiter (Jack) was great. I would recommend highly, and we are already planning our next visit.
The lights in the middle of the room need dimming to create a more relaxed atmosphere.
The food was delicious!
