Very poor welcome when we arrived. Passed to three different people who said they’d be with us in a second. All whilst 6 people were loitering behind the bar. It was 6pm so not busy. The food was very slow. But it was delicious when it arrived. It’s a great place but it seemed like the staff didn’t know what they were doing and our waiter’s English was very poor.
Great food and lovely atmosphere Service was a bit slow. Not sure if front of house staff not quite vigilant enough or not quite quick enough to prompt the kitchen. But very friendly. I'll definitely come again
The best roast I've had in Bristol! Great service, wine and atmosphere - Live music too. Perfect meal!
Roast Sunday lunch and desserts were lovely. The cheapest bottle of wine at £20 was a expensive. £16/17 more palatable. The website did not show bar prices .
The table near the door can be a bit uncomfortable when it's cold outside.
Food and service was excellent!
Service was very good and food delicious. Only downside was that it was a little cold as our table was near the door.
Never eaten at 1766 Bar & Kitchen before & we absolutely loved it. Great food, service & atmosphere. Will definitely be back
Noisy theatre goers spoilt atmosphere a bit.
Overall an enjoyable evening with good seasonal food, varied selection of drinks in an atmospheric venue.
Fod and service were execellent. In terms of booking though I was unhappy. Booked in plenty of time for a 1pm table and was not called back to confirm. Was told they called me and emailed me but this was not the case. I have my phone with me all the time for work and there were no signs of either. Food and service were amazing though and hasn’t put me off booking again.
A quality of food which matches the setting of the building, and excellent service on our visit from Emma. Would thoroughly recommend.
Lovely setting to have a meal. Interesting menus and sound, tempting menu and a good selection of wines to have by the glass.. Cheerful service.
We had a great time, fabulous service from Savannah Thanks and see you soon
Booked before show; good quick lunch, lovely venue and attentive service. We would book again on another visit.
We had a delicious pre theatre meal .
Our waitress was very good. Great meal we will be back.
Service was too slow - it took 25 minutes from ordering for our soup to arrive. As pre-theatre meals must be your core business, you cannot afford to make people wait so long.
A really enjoyable pre-show meal which made the evening more special, in amazing surroundings.
Delicious food, good service and atmosphere. Slightly more expensive than other fixed price menus.
I emailed this morning- disappointed with the service, which, although polite, was insufficient. Communication poor, food arrived late so had to be eaten within 9 mins before theatre, despite us arriving at 6.15. I was not that impressed with the veggie main which was bland. Won’t book again.
We arrived at 6.15 for pre theatre menu. Main course arrived after 7.15 which made things pretty stressful. Not on sorry.
My family’s favourite place for Sunday dinner, we’d come every week if my Dad didn’t have to travel from Weston, amazing staff & amazing food.
Lovely setting, delicious roast and friendly staff.
Great space, so atmospheric. The food was delicious and excellent service.
