Remember when we used to see vegetarian dishes as tasteless tofu, bean sprouts, and curd? Things have changed and the variety of vegetarian dishes have increased and improved a lot, even piquing the interest of the meat-eaters among us. A city like Manchester has plenty to offer vegetarian visitors when they dine out. So here are our picks for the best vegetarian restaurants in Manchester. (A note for our vegan friends: most of these places can cater you too!)

Spanish, Tapas, Vegetarian Friendly
If you’re out in Manchester crying out for a bit of tapas, we’ve got just the place for you. Evuna is a fine Spanish tapas bar and boutique. They’ve brought an authentic fresh vegetarian menu to Manchester, featuring mouthwatering plates like their tortilla de patatas, pan Catalan, roasted aubergine, goat’s cheese croquetas, and much more. Their delicious wines have been directly imported from Spain, and if you like them a little too much (and we can’t blame you), you have the possibility to purchase them in their boutique winery. Evuna is one of our favourite vegetarian restaurants in Manchester, why don’t you judge it yourself?

This authentic Indian restaurant is an absolute gem for vegetarians. Their menu traverses the Indian subcontinent, it features lots vegetarian and vegan options, and it’s as diverse and colourful as the culture itself. From their street food menu to their South Indian, Punjabi mains, daal, rices, and naan menu, you’ll be able to try the freshest vegetarian dishes in town. These guys leave no stone unturned in the preparation of their dishes, and it’s an absolute heaven for vegetarians. Wait no more and book your table!

Indian Tiffin Room

Another Indian restaurant, because to be honest, nobody does better vegetarian food than Indian restaurants. Their authentic recipes include countless delicious meat-free dishes, and you can find them all in Indian Tiffin Room. This place specialises in authentic Indian Street food inspired by the bustling streets of India. Their menu is healthy, filled with authentic flavours and spices, featuring many tasty vegetarian dishes. They also have an entire vegan menu that even your most carnivorous of friend will love. This one is a true joy and definitely one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Manchester.

Named after the year the vegetarian society formed, 1847 serves modern dishes specialising in plant based, vegetarian gastronomy. Located on Chapel Walks, this venue has a very cool vibe with stylish Scandi design to their interiors, and classic Ibiza tunes. Their menu is pretty simple but still offers the best of veggie food. Order their malt battered halloumi, sundried tomato polenta cake, or yeasted cauliflower. At 1847, you are without a doubt in for a veggie feast. Also, they have a few options for your meat-loving friends, so they have no excuse not to join you! Check out our full review of 1847 here.
