We love these spots

Everyone needs a bit of romance in their lives. While we do love to eat at ResDiary, sometimes a box of Milk Tray just isn’t going to cut it. Occasionally, you need to cut loose and book a really fancy dinner. Whether you’re doing the booking or the hinting, we’ve rounded up a list of the most romantic restaurants in Bournemouth that will suit all tastes. Date night is on…..

Restaurant Roots

One for when you’re really trying to impress, Restaurant Roots is a teeny tiny venue situated on an unassuming street. With under 20 seats, it’s where you should go if you’re looking for an intimate atmosphere and some amazing food, made by Michelin-trained chefs. Choose from a selection of evening tasting menus; Mini, Classic, and Discovery, all paired with accompanying wines. The husband and wife team behind the restaurant will make you feel really welcome and it’s just a great spot to while away a romantic evening.

The Larder House

Romance and passion go hand in hand, and these guy have passion in absolute spades. Owner James Fowler has set out to create a foodie paradise in Dorset and him and his team love what they do. Treat your date with one of their unique cocktails before moving on to their eclectic menu. There are tapas and sharing dishes (all the better to get cosy with your romantic partner), a whole section of cheese, and dessert dishes that will look amazing on your Insta. If you’re not ready for the night to end at closing time, you can pick up a bottle of Ardor sparkling wine blended by The Larder House team themselves. Anyone on the hunt for romantic restaurants in Bournemouth should definitely have The Larder House on their list.

Urban Reef

Is there anything more romantic than an after-dinner beachfront walk? We don’t think so. Which is why if you’re looking for romantic restaurants in Bournemouth, we’d highly recommend Urban Reef. Sat right on the seafront, this super-trendy spot features a huge outdoor terrace and great views over the sea. It’s a good idea to start off with some cocktails and while the menu is small, if you have a favourite, ask for it and they’ll make it for you. Their food menu is extensive and there’s even a plant-based and vegan section if you or your date doesn’t eat food with a face.

La Piccola Italia

If there’s something that Italians don’t know about amore, it’s not worth knowing. And La Piccola Italia is a classic Italian restaurant, that will definitely set you in the mood for romance. With checked tablecloths, intimate lighting, and delicious wine, all that’s missing is a man with a guitar serenading you. The menu is varied with the options for pizza and pasta, or sharing tapas that you and your partner can dig into. If the date goes well, you can even head back for breakfast the next day as they do a bottomless prosecco brunch on a Sunday morning.

Rick Stein

Ok, this one is not exactly in the middle of Bournemouth but it’s just a hop along the road in Poole. And what’s 20 minutes for a lifetime of happiness? Because a lifetime of happiness is what you feel like you’re in for after eating a plate of Rick Stein’s food. Situated in a gorgeous Sandbanks location, this venue overlooks the coastline, making it the perfect spot to sit and watch the sun go down. Enjoy seafood favourites like the fruits de mer or fresh oysters, as you sip from an extensive cocktail list. Then, take a walk along the sand after your meal for a truly romantic round-off.

Renoufs Westbourne

Does anyone else associate fairy lights with romance? Just us? If you feel the way we do, you'll love Renoufs Westbourne, a cosy little spot where the low lighting, fairylights, and ambience screams romance no matter what the time. Serving up a wide array of wines, their crowning glories are the charcuterie and cheeseboards, the perfect food to pick at as you and your partner stare into each others' eyes. If you're in the market for romantic restaurants in Bournemouth it doesn't get much better than Renoufs Westbourne.
