There is something special about going to the theatre in Manchester that really makes you feel that you want to make the most of the occasion. Whether you’re having a singalong to a timeless classic, splitting your sides to comedy gold or jumping off your seat to an action-packed thriller, we’ve got something that will compliment your evening seamlessly. Booking in advance is highly recommended as there will be a lot of people in the same boat as you, but fear not, you can reserve your table using our simple-to-use online booking system which is one less thing to worry about. Whether it’s indulgent Italian, scrumptious Below are our recommendations for a pre-theatre dinner.

Evuna Deansgate

Known for its extensive wine menu (need we say more?) and delicious Spanish offerings, Evuna is definitely one to take a trip to before your theatre experience. Located conveniently on Deansgate in the city centre, it is easily reachable by both the train and tram line and walking distance from the theatres. Choose from their tasty tapas menu, or go more traditional with a paella, but you’re bound to want to jump on a plane immediately afterwards.

Home Café Bar

If you’re venturing to the HOME area of Manchester, then we would recommend checking out the offerings of the café bar there. With dishes such as a Greek Lamb Pizza to a North African Buddha Bowl, there is certainly something for every palette.

Indian Tiffin Room

Just around the corner from Home Café Bar, you’ll find the Indian Tiffin Room, if you’re looking for a little spice before your show. The dishes range from traditional street food, to Tiffin Dishes which are the cornerstone of their menu, with loads of veggie and vegan options too – perfect to try something a little bit different!

If you’re after a traditional Greek Taverna in the city centre, then look no further than Dimitris on the corner of Deansgate and Tonman Street. With an outside area that will make you feel as though you’re on the streets of Europe, you’ll be booking to visit again before you’ve even left the building! Again, perfectly situated for the theaters, you can nibble on some delicious Greek mezze, or order you and your party a platter to share – the food is incredible, and there’s an atmosphere to match.

Teppanyaki China Town

If you’re up for a show before your show, then taking a trip to Teppanyaki in China Town in a must. Not only is the food cooked right in front of your eyes, but the chefs put on a show and get all of the table involved. Think fresh ingredients, delicious drinks and a little spice and you’ve found your place. Prepare to be wowed before you’ve even finished your meal!

Don Giovanni

A recognised, well-known name on the Italian Dining scene, Don Giovanni is a spectacle in both food and décor, and is the perfect pick for your pre-theatre dinner. Not only do they have a set 2 or 3 course menu, with prices from as little as £16.95, they have also won awards for being the ‘Most Romantic Italian Restaurant’ and the ‘Italian Restaurant of the year’ so you know you’re going to be in good hands. The offering ranges from seafood specials such as Salmone Adriatico (grilled salmon with asparagus and prawns in a cream sauce) to Frittura Mista (deep fried calamari, baby octopus, king prawns and whitebait) to Italian classics, Lasagne and Risotto.
