Are you heading into town to the theatre? Or have you booked a gig? Whatever your reason for a fun filled evening, you’re going to need fed. Here we have our picks of the best places you can go for a pre-theatre pick me up in Glasgow’s West End.

This family owned restaurant in Glasgow’s West End, near Kelvinhall subway is owned by couple Maurizio and Ester who have worked tirelessly over the years to cater to the hungry bellies of their local clientele. Starting with a small cafe called North Star eight years ago, they mastered the art of serving breakfast, lunch, and exceptional Italian food. They are renowned for providing fresh, home made food with a warm welcome. With the addition of their wee girl, they’ve launched this restaurant in Glasgow’s west end, so head down and enjoy some authentic Italian food and wine.

Eusebi Deli

Another family owned Italian restaurant, and a firm favourite among locals. Eusebis over 40 years ago when the family began importing unique products by small artisan makers and specialist produce from across Italy. They still do that to this day, always sourcing the very finest Italian food. Giovanna and the team always give a warm welcome and producing good food is central to their philosophy. Head down for a pre-theatre dinner in Glasgow’s West End. We’d recommend the small plate menu available Monday to Sunday 4pm until 6.15pm, which includes dishes such as charred yellow peach and whipped ricotta and half portions of pasta from their pasta laboratory. A place you’ll keep coming back to time and time again, everyone loves Eusebi’s.

La Lanterna West End

La Lanterna have branched out to the West End and have a brand spanking new, bright restaurant right on Great Western Road. Their pre-theatre menu has all the old favourites, from lasagna to pumpkin risotto to home made beef meatballs in tomato sugo served with polenta chips. They literally have it all. They serve their pre-theatre menu 3pm-6pm starting at £14.95 per person. We’ve already got our eyes on the Tiramisu in Tazza. But… also the Nutella and white chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream. Keep room for dessert, you’ll thank us later.

Cafe Andaluz

Cafe Andaluz's Cresswell Lane branch is based in Glasgow's trendy west end. It’s in the style of a stylish, white-washed hacienda, with stained glass lamps, carved wooden furniture and alcoves filled with beautiful colour throughout. You can get all your Spanish favourites on the pre-theatre menu, from 12pm to 6.30pm get any three tapas and a dessert from £16.95, including patatas bravas, paella, and calamares. If you’re feeling a bit extra, go for the “platos para compatir” - dishes to share, you can choose from a selection meats, such as Iberico chorizo and Serrano ham, or just get the mixed platter with tortilla as well as manchego, and lots of other tasty spanish treats.
