If you’re a dog owner, you may have a hard time finding good restaurants that are also dog friendly. That’s where we come in. We’ve scoured the city and found some amazing dog-friendly restaurants in Edinburgh. Say goodbye to those shady side eyes and whispers from diners. In these spots, your furry friend will be welcomed with open arms.

Scran and Scallie

The Scran & Scallie is the latest  venture from the team behind the popular Michelin star the Kitchin. It’s an authentic Scottish relaxed dining venue, serving good old national food just how we like it. Modern dishes such as fish & chips, fish pie, and Sunday roast are served alongside some forgotten classics such as sheep’s heid scotch broth, traditional cottage pie, chicken liver parfait, and eton mess to name a few. Expect authentic beers, good wine, and the finest water for your pooch. Book your spot and “sit ye doon yer welcome”!

Lebowskis

Take your dog for a nice walk in Holyrood park before heading to the cool, chilled-out Lebowskis. Only a short walk away from the park, this authentic dog friendly restaurant in Edinburgh is the spot to head to if you’re a burger fan. After enjoying a couple of years wowing the Glasgow crowd, they’ve figured it would be time to open a new eatery in the capital. And we thank them for that! From the BLT and brie melt to the Thai chicken and Moroccan falafel, these guys specialise in all kinds of awesome burgers. Also, their brunches are pretty amazing! Order yourself a good Bloody Mary and an awesome bowl of water for the puppy, and start the day the right way.

Fishers

Bistro, Scottish, British, Contemporary, Fine Dining, Seafood

Sister restaurant of The Shore, Fishers is a great dog friendly restaurant in Edinburgh, and more specifically in Leith. Set in a 17th-century watchtower, this award-winning bar and restaurant serves fabulous seafood in a great relaxed atmosphere. Specialising  in Scottish dishes, these guys also cook typical Irish and English dishes with international influences. If you’re looking for a great feast for you and your dog, this spot is the one for you!

Thrive Café:Bar

A vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Bruntsfield, Thrive has a simple mission, to serve up fresh, vibrant food in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. They have  areal mixture of dishes on their menu, from the thrive chilli nachos to the “mac & peas”, and their list of vegan desserts will make you drool, especially the banoffee sundae. Take a pal and your pooch and thrive at Thrive.
