Dog friendly pubs in Glasgow

Does the thought of leaving your pup home alone give you the fear? Do you find yourself pining for your pug on a night out? Well fear no more, we’ve scoured the streets to find the best dog friendly pubs in Glasgow where you can rock up with pup in tow, meaning you’ll never have to be separated again. PS: Try not to swoon too much over our little Cooper making a special appearance in this blog.

The Butterfly and the Pig

British, Afternoon Tea, High Tea
The Butterfly, the pig, and the dog? This family friendly pub is the perfect place to venture with your four-legged friend. Whether you’re in the city centre or the Southside venue, be safe in the knowledge you’ll enjoy tasty grub, a large selection of drinks and cosy interiors – great after a day chasing the ‘”dug” around the park.

American, Gastro pub, Burger Joint
Lebowskis Glasgow started with some hard graft from three super-cool dudes with the vision to surprise and delight in everything they do, so of course we were delighted when we learned they allow dogs in the bar. Take your pooch to the place where the burgers are stellar and the White Russians are the stuff of legend. They also do mean hot dogs but maybe keep that quiet around your pooch eh?

The Bungo

Sister bar of The Left Bank in the West End (which is also dog friendly FYI), The Bungo can be found in Glasgow’s Southside, sporting a stylish bar and kitchen with a lively personality and relaxed ambiance, an ideal place to chill with your dog.

Ubiquitous Chip Brasserie

Did you know this Ashton Lane institution is a dog friendly venue too? Nope neither did we, until our research of course. Sit back and enjoy some tasty food while your pooch can relax by your side.

The Finnieston

Scottish, Seafood, Fine dining
Venture out to the thriving heart of Finnieston and you’ll find this venue of the same name. The Finnieston not only serves over 60 of the best gins around, but also offers some exquisite Scottish seafood and they are dog friendly. What more could you want?

Porter & Rye

Steak, Fine Dining, Small Plates
We know what you’re thinking, a dog in a steak restaurant? They must be barking mad. It’s true though, for those calm and composed pups Porter and Rye welcomes dogs with open arms, as if you needed another reason to go.

WEST on the Green

We couldn’t write a blog about dog friendly pubs in Glasgow and not include WEST. With a fantastic site in the east of Glasgow, facing Glasgow Green, this place is a haven for beer lovers. With a huge beer garden overlooking the park, it’s the ideal place to go after taking your dog out for a stroll.

‘Stravaig’ means ‘to wander’, and we recommend you wander off the beaten path to Stravaigin after a day out with your dog. Some trivia, this place has been awarded the Michelin Bib Gourmand every year since 2012, so you know you’re in for a treat.

The Crafty Pig

BBQ & Grill, American, Burger Joint, Smoke House, Street Food
When an upmarket neighbourhood bar meets the dive bar ‘bit on the side’ the result is only going to be interesting, that’s what they say about the Crafty Pig. Offering a menu of good hearty grub including burgers and delicious nachos you can tuck in with your pup by your side. “Bone” Appetit!

Phillies of Shawlands

This is such a dog friendly Glasgow pub that we wrote a review on it. With really (really) tasty food, great tunes, and staff that positively gush over dogs, there's not many places that welcome Rover with arms more open. Sit up in the main pub area, or wander down to Curious Liquids, the little wine bar attached  to Phillies for a quieter spot.
