Burns Night Scotland

What better way to pay homage to Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, than by having a slap up meal and a good ol’ knees up? Have a nosy at our top picks on where to celebrate Rabbie Burns on Burns Night in Scotland.

Wedgwood the Restaurant

Wedgwood are back with their Burns Night feast with The Real Mary King’s Close. This evening entails a three course meal and a live recital of Burns poetry at the venue, before being escorted to the Real Mary King’s Close. Here, you’ll enjoy a Burns inspired guided tour of the uniquely preserved streets underneath the Royal Mile. The evening is topped off by toasting to Burns with a dram of whisky in the Burgh Courtroom. This one was a sell out success last year so make sure you book your place quick.

Lebowskis

It’s all happening for Burns at Lebowskis in January. Think Burns White Russians, haggis, neeps, and tatties on the menu, as well as Burns themed burgers (of course). There will also be Scottish music on the speakers, and they promise it won’t be the traditional type of Scottish tunes.

Oran Mor

Celebrate the life and works of Scotland’s national bard at Oran Mor, complete with piper, haggis, champit tatties (mashed potatoes as they are more commonly known), and a toast to the lassies. A traditional three course Scottish menu is served in the stunning auditorium where the evening’s entertainment will include performances by Iain Robertson and friends. Tickets for this event are priced at £45.

Ubiquitous Chip

A favourite with the locals and well known on the Glasgow scene, Ubiquitous Chip are hosting something special this Burns Night. They invite you to come along and eat like a king for their Beyond Burns night, an evening full of dancing and dining. Enjoy a 4 course menu followed by a ceilidh on the cobbles.

The Finnieston

This next one is a week long celebration for the beloved bard. The Finnieston are laying on a luxurious spread for Burns Night this year, with a Scottish supper (including some clever twists), and whisky flights to boot.

Stravaigin

Go for something a little different than your traditional sit down dinner on Burns night. Instead might we propose a Burns brunch? An afternoon filled with piping, poems, and performance, with a delicious three course meal and a dram.
