We’ve listed the best lunch restaurants in Shoreditch, so let’s recharge those batteries before an intense afternoon in the office!

To all the fish lovers out there, Brat is the place to go when looking for best lunch in Shoreditch. This Basque influenced British restaurant serves up all sorts of fresh fish and crustacean like salt cod, monkfish, dover sole, lobster and many many more. If you’re more a meat kind of person, have one of their steaks, rumour has it they’re the best in the area. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite between two meetings, or want to share a lobster with your favourite colleagues, Brat is the place to go. Oh, have we mentioned all their dishes are cooked on a wood fire grill?

Rochelle Canteen

If you’re looking for the ultimate chilled-out spot in Shoreditch, head to Rochelle Canteen. This charming little gem is located in the converted bike shed of old Rochelle School, looking out to the trees of Arnold Circus beyond. From fish stew and poached chicken to smoked cod, laverbread pie, spring greens, and roasted roots, you’ll find some of the best recipes England has brought us. For all the sweet lovers amongst you, their ginger loaf with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream is one of God’s best inventions.

In Turkish, “oklava” is a traditional rolling pin which is used to make breads, pastries and pides, although we prefer to translate it in English as “a little piece of heaven”. This contemporary Turkish restaurant was opened by killer duo Laura and Selin who had one idea in their mind; “to push traditional boundaries and pull Turkish cuisine out of the kebab shop and onto the London restaurant scene. Book your table, or sit at the bar and enjoy an impressive live cooking show. Whether you come for lunch or dinner, their list of wines is simply a must, showcasing some fantastic beverages from the most exciting producers of one of the oldest wine growing region of the world. Sounds like music to our ears.

Popolo Shoreditch

Nothing like a good plate of homemade pasta to put you back on track for an afternoon in the office. Popolo is a small independent restaurant specialising in Italian-inspired creative little plates with Middle Eastern and Spanish influences, and if that doesn’t sound like the best mix to you, then I’m out of here. Don’t hesitate to pair your dish with a glass of their magnificent wine list. Popolo surely serves one of the best lunches in Shoreditch, experience it yourself!

Smoking Goat

Be ready for a trip to the bustling streets of Bangkok at Smoking goat. This Thai barbecue bar was inspired by the late night canteens of Thailand’s capital, and it’s simply delightful. Try our very favourite dish, the Tamworth belly rib with Tamarind dipping sauce. They prepare their pork for 48 hours and then slow grill over charcoal. And that, my friend, is the secret to perfectly cooked ribs. For the late eaters amongst you, they’re open for lunch until 3:30pm (eating later means less time at the office in the afternoon, right?), book your spot and enjoy!
