We've got the brunchies

Never mind what you did last summer, we know what you did LAST NIGHT. So shake off the cobwebs and cure yourself with everyone’s new favourite meal … BRUNCH. Be it boozy and bottomless or cool and casual, brunch is one of the fastest expanding food trends in the UK right now (we think it is to do with all those amazing Bloody Marys on offer!). With so much choice, we have narrowed down the list to the top 5 places in London that will have you back on the road to recovery.

On interior alone, Lahpet gets a ten from us! But does the food live up to the dreamy decor? As one of London’s only restaurants to specialise in authentic Burmese cooking, Lahpet aims to bring the flavours of Myanmar to Shoreditch. This weekend we recommend you change it up and opt for their Burmese bottomless brunch. This brunch is something unique, think fragrant noodle bowls, paired with a choice of free-flowing iced G&T’s, lemongrass vodka sodas, Kirin beer, or house wine for just £25 per person. Trust us this is going to be your new favourite brunch spot! Brunch available every Saturday and Sunday between 12-4pm

Mac and Wild

It ain’t called wild for nothin’, just look at those Bloody Marys! If you’re venturing here for brunch we recommend the dirty Scottish breakfast bap. A feat of burger engineering packed with black pudding, bacon, fried hen’s egg, caramelised onions, tattie scone and lorne sausage all in a floury bap. To wash it down, Mac and Wild offer bottomless brunch cocktails from a bloody Scotsman made with whisky, to a bloody botanist made with gin.

International, Turkish, Fine Dining
A favourite on the London scene, Oklava is a contemporary Turkish restaurant bringing the flavours of the middle east to brunch! If you’re feeling a bit worse for wear on Sunday, round up a group of friends and plan to share cheeses, olives, pastirma sausage with fried eggs, menemen and seasonal fruits! Don’t forget the drinks, you have the choice of Turkish Bloody Mary or why not opt for traditional Turkish coffees.

The Cut at Young Vic

BBQ & Grill, Bistro, British, Burger Joint
Forget dinner and a show, what you really need is breakfast and a show. Thankfully, this is something you can get at The Cut at Young Vic. Their philosophy is “to create great shows for great people” and they also create great breakfasts for great people. Try their healthy breakfast options, including avocado and poached eggs, and smoothies, or go full Saturday hangover-cure with their open breakfast burger, and amazing pastries. You then have the choice of hanging out in the iconic building, or catching one of their amazing shows. Breakfast is served ’til 11.30, then lunch starts, meaning even if you’re running seriously late, it’s one of the best places to grab brunch in London.

Darwin Brasserie

How do you like your eggs in the morning? We like ours on a rooftop with a backdrop of the London skyline! Eat like a king at The Darwin Brasserie housed in the famous Sky Garden spanning three storeys showcasing exceptional views of the city. This Sunday, do brunch right and choose a main from sirloin steak to confit brisket, and did we mention the starters and desserts are unlimited from the buffet bar? Brunch bliss.
