Start your day right

It’s said to be the most important thing you imbibe all day (no we’re not talking about the post-work wine) but where on earth do you get the best breakfast in Belfast? From healthy smoothies, to dirty great fry-ups, we’ve put together a list that will satisfy all your breakfastey/brunchey cravings.

French Village

No one knows how to do a breakfast better than the French, as proved by the ever popular Continental breakfast found in hotels across the world. Our favourite dish is the French Village Breakfast Board with toasted sourdough, croissants or scones, and hand-churned butter and jams. There’s also a delectable chorizo and chipotle baked beans option if you’re fancying something hot, along with the usual collection of eggs, avocados, waffles, and pancakes. No breakfast bookings, but make a reservation if you’re going at night.

Baker Street

We lulled you into a “light breakfast” sense of security with French Village. ‘Cos now we’re bringing you to Baker Street, where the Baker Street Fry is top of our recommendations list. With all the classic components; sausage, bacon, mushrooms, potato bread, black pudding, and more, it’s a great way to start your day or cure last night’s hangover. Bringing a pal with a less hearty idea of breakfast in Belfast? They also do pancakes, Eggs Florentine, and lots of other great treats.

Made in Belfast Cathedral Quarter

One of our favourite Sunday breakfast in Belfast spots, Made in Belfast is a fun, quirky place where you’ll feel right at home any time of the day. They serve up small and big fries, crushed avocado, pastries, Eggs Royale, and Moroccan baked eggs. And they’re all under a tenner. So chuck on your leggings, tie up your hair, and head down for a Sunday curer.

Miel Et Moi

Two French patisseries on the same list? Yup, because French breakfasts are amazing. This super cute spot serves French pastries, omelettes, and even porridge if you’re feeling of a Scottish persuasion. Once you’ve finished breakfast, it would be rude not to have some of their lovely pastries or cakes. If you’re looking for breakfast in Belfast, it doesn’t get much classier than this.

Deanes Deli

Owned by Michelin starred chef, Michael Deanes, you know that you’re in for tasty grub when you head here. The menu is short and sweet, with muffins, French toast, smoked salmon, and other tasty favourites. Served between 8.00-11.30am on weekdays, and 9am-11.30am on Saturdays it’s a great place for breakfast in Belfast, any day.
