About Harbour House (Constantia)

Harbour House Constantia Nek has given an iconic destination restaurant a new lease on life. A sophisticated, light space with views over the verdant Constantia Valley, that can seat 80-100 people. It’s the oldest wine producing region in Africa, dating back to 1685, and is home to many award-winning wine farms.

The décor is simple and understated keeping the original form and structure of the Heritage building. White interiors with rustic stone walls, floors and herringbone brick work to simply amplify the original space. The modern twist on the riempie chairs also echo a South African heritage. The bar houses a gorgeous oversized wine fridge to highlight a fine selection of local wines.
Enjoy the peaceful beauty and commanding views of the rolling Constantiaberg mountain range from the wall-to-ceiling windows opening onto a herb garden which supplies the kitchen.
It would be the perfect venue for small weddings, corporate functions or international tour groups looking for casual fine dining.

The service was excellent. Starter and Desserts were delicious. The main meals weren't prepared as well as would have liked.

Booking was well handled, waiter (Ernest) attentive and helpful. The restaurant unfortunately smelt of fish - vents or air con need to be looked at (fish smell most offputting). Wine prices high, a la carte menu expensive as well - we had the winter special. BUT disappointing - no yellowtail available only hake or kingklip; panna cotta dessert not available on set menu either; and then no soup spoons!!! The staff kindly wished my husband a happy birthday which was sweet of them. Sadly we felt it was unacceptable to run out of menu items, especially when we had booked well ahead of time so management knew how many people to expect... Fishy smell also needs to be dealt with. You are going to have to up the game from a management side if you want to keep local visitors loyal...

The food was superb. The grilled calamari starter was really excellent, and I can safely say that I have never had a better piece of yellowtail than I ate at Harbour House. Service was very good, too. From a food perspective, the only disappointment was the the panacotta, which was overcooked and way too firm. This is the second fantastic meal that I have eaten there (first time--peri peri prawns).
