About Great Hall at Ellenborough Park
Great Hall- Afternoon Tea
The welcome is exceptional and the staff very professional. The food is very fresh and delightful and its always a special place to come.
We were all very happy with our visit to ellenborough park. It was lovely food and great service. We really enjoyed it. And would definitely recommend you. Thank very much
Teapot was leaving black flakes in the tea. It was green tea and we checked the teabags. Upon looking inside the teapot it was black and flaky. Cake stand was thick with dust. Toilets were disgusting. Clearly not checked regularly because 3 of the toilets were covered in excrement. Sandwiches sparsely filled.
When we arrived for Afternoon tea, we asked if we could sit outside in sun and it was no problem. The young blonde lady who severed us was lovely and went out of her way to make our afternoon perfect!
Disappointing. After use of the Spa, which was lovely, I looked forward to an equally lovely afternoon tea. My partner had sat outside in the sun whilst I was in the Spa, and so we requested we eat outside. We were told this was not possible. We were not sure why as other guests were eating and drinking outside. Please note this was not the same area as the 'party'. Anyway, we decided to go for a cream tea, and tea and cakes, only to be told they were the same thing...ok, they are not we thought as they were separate on the afternoon tea menu! Regardless, the scones we did receive were lovely. Was 4 scones and 2 cups of tea worth £21? No. Service was lacking, and so was presentation. Cushions on sofa slipping off and crumbs left on empty table next to us. Really not what I was expecting for this venue. Such a shame.
Beautiful afternoon and lucky the sun was out to enjoy the gardens after our tea :)
