Very cosy and warm environment. Staf were very friendly and welcoming. Food was lovely. Will definitely be back.
This was our second year coming to the bowfield for mothers day lunch and yet again, it didn't disappoint. Fantastic service and the food was tremendous. Would highly recommend.
Booked for 11.30-only lunch slot available so was disappointed when we arrived and was advised lunch didn't start till 12. Not sure why this booking slot was available? Apart from this food good, good atmosphere and quick friendly service
The ladies toilets let the place down. One of them was blocked and despite the fact I reported it was left open and people were still using it. Apart from that two ladies toilets for the amount of people was insufficient. The decor was also very basic for an establishment trying to be a bit upmarket.
I had the ciabatta with streak and mustard. The mustard completely over powered the sandwich to the point of not being edible. Far too much mustard. Other than that very nice just go easy in the mustard . And I like mustard...
Food could be hotter..
The front of house lady was very nice however dining was not a nice and relaxing experience for us at all. There was too much going on in the restaurant and 3 members of staff serving the one table. We were moved in the middle of lunch twice to let people past and being pregnant and moving chairs and tables is not appropriate really. The coffee was cold and they failed to bring us menus when the afternoon teas where there 2 others at the table hadn't even seen a menu yet! Then after telling them 3 times that we wanted a ham with mustard sandwich there was no mustard on the sandwich and the cheapest bread and cold meat I have ever tasted. Value for money was shocking at £6 for it!! It really wasnt nice with a quarter of a tomato in the middle of it. We asked for 2 soft drinks with the afternoon tea and we got a prosecco sent over instead then the bill was wrong they overcharged us by a mile and when I told the man serving is he changed it and brought the bill back still overcharging us so then he counted it up in his head at the table what he thought our bill would be and put it through the card machine I was embarrassed at that and didn't want to question it as I couldn't actually believe what a shambles it was. So after looking forward to our relaxing day out that we spent over £50 on we couldn't wait to leave!! Spa facilities are fab but the dining part is not enjoyable at all!!
Lovely country escape within close proximity to Glasgow city centre. Lovely staff, fantastic leisure facilities and excellent value for money. Would definitely visit again.
