Service friendly but amateurish. Waitress spilt prosecco, didn't offer to replace, left to pour myself first glass. Different prices charged for identical drinks. Food lovely but 2 choices of mains not available. Had to chase staff to order more drinks, pay bill etc
Fabulous, we had a great evening. Loved the food, cocktails, live music, service, surroundings and fantastic value for money. Would recommend to all family and friends. Thank you for a lovely night.
I absolutely love this place and always recommend it to friends and family however I must admit I don't usually eat here. I tried it out on Saturday night for food and although the food was tasty, it was pricey. I had the salmon (£16) and didn't order any sides as I interpreted from the menu that it came with new potatoes. But it didn't. So I was still hungry when I finished and was disappointed that whilst taking my order the waitress didn't point this out. I also found bones in the fish to which the waitress didn't seem to think was an issue!! Not sure I'd eat here again but will still come to enjoy the entertainment.
Some meals did not get presented as described on the menu, and whilst this was kindly responded to with an offer of a gratis glass of wine- the correct meal would have been good. We were a party of 13 but had pre-ordered our meals, so the 90 minute wait for the meals to arrive was very poor, and even then some plates came up about 15 minutes later than the others. I also added on an order for a simple halloumi burger which was accepted, but was told over an hour later that actually the kitchen could not now make it. This was in fact for my son who was leading the band providing the evenings entertainment...he ended up with the burger between the bands 2nd and 3rd set, after I had protested. The food was actually good, so well done for thAt, but there is obviously something seriously wrong with the communication and management in your kitchen. I will find it hard to recommend anyone to eat with you unless they are prepared to be very relaxed about the level of service they will receive. I wonder are you trying to achieve the unacheivable in offering meals in your bar environment?
I dined with yourself last night and must say I would struggle to return. There were only 2 of us and we ate a light meal of 2 starters and a side order however we must have waited around 50 minutes for food. In addition when ordering a second drink we waited a further 35 minutes and decided to then call it a day. When I paid the bill I waited again for what seemed like an age for someone to bring the card machine. It's really not good enough having service to this standard, the food was delicious which made it such a shame that the service let it down so badly. I pointed out to the waitress that the service was poor to which she responded yes I know...sorry and walked off!! I would appreciate some feedback from yourself on this
First time at 1842. The food and cocktails were excellant and loved the rabbit hole gin bar outside, it will be the place to be in summer
